FEBRUARY is "CAREER TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION" Month
Career and Technical Education Month®, or CTE Month®, is a public awareness campaign that takes place each February to celebrate the value of CTE and the achievements and accomplishments of CTE programs across the country (https://www.acteonline.org/). At FCRES, we recognized Career and Technology Education on February 3rd by inviting our representatives from our Career Technology Center in to share their new book, Career Technology Creatures, with our 4th grade students. Ann Jordan (CTCLC School Counselor) and Paul Georgetti (CTCLC Digital Communications Design Instructor) showed students the interactive, augmented reality, animated book that was created by CTC students, including some Foresters! Each 4th grade student was given a copy to take home, all grade level teachers PK-6 received a classroom copy, and the school was given an iPad to utilize the AR technology courtesy of the CTCLC.
January is "GET ORGANIZED"' Month!
To align with many New Year resolutions, on Friday, January 17th, students and staff at FCRES recognized GET ORGANIZED month by cleaning out arranging, and re-organizing desks, folders, cabinets, chair pockets, backpacks, supplies, folders, notebooks, supplies, etc.! Organization, as you know, is a critical part of learning but many of students struggle with this skill for a variety of reasons. Therefore, building wide, in classrooms and small groups, we focused on the importance of organization and how it can contribute to our success!
